Meet your teachers

Built by educators who understand where children get stuck.

We're Matt and Ben, two Australian teachers with more than 25 years in classrooms and school leadership between us. We kept seeing the same pattern. A child misses one early concept in maths and everything built on top of it gets shaky.

In a class of 28 there's rarely time to go back and find those gaps, and private tutoring is expensive and tends to reteach skills that children already know. We built NumPath so parents can see exactly where their child is with maths, and give them short, targeted lessons on exactly those gaps.

Common questions

What age or year level is the maths check for?
It covers the Australian Curriculum from Year 2 to Year 6 and adapts to your child as they answer, so it finds their level rather than assuming it.
Should I help my child answer the questions?
Let them answer on their own if they can. The check is looking for what they can do without help, so a hand from you makes the results less useful. Sitting nearby is fine.
What will the parent report show?
A strand by strand picture across all six areas of maths: Number, Algebra, Measurement, Space, Statistics and Probability. For each one you will see the level your child is working at and what that means in practical language.
What happens if my child does not know an answer?
There is a "not sure yet" button on every question. Tapping it is not a wrong answer. It tells us what to teach next, which is more useful than a guess.
Is the four module pilot personalised?
No. The four pilot modules are the same for every family and sit at Year 4 level. They are there to show you how NumPath teaches. The free maths check separately shows you where your child is.
Who teaches the lessons?
Matt and Ben. Each lesson is a short video taught the same way they teach it in a classroom, followed by practice.
